I’m talking about average temperatures spread out over a 3 month period. A brief cold snap doesn’t counteract the multiple weeks of near record or record breaking warm periods in-between the cold snaps. The average winter temperatures have been well above normal the past several years despite the short lived cold snaps. That is how data works.
