Is space city engaged on the meshtastic network? I’m having trouble finding any nodes with weather info at all, much less running a weather bot in Houston.

That’s not something I’ve heard of, but after some searching it looks neat! None of us have any experience with RF in general, and looking at the supported devices list for meshtastic, none of it is hardware I’ve ever used. But this is definitely something to throw on the rainy day tinkering pile!

Etsy can net you an affordable, pre-built model ready to go to get you started on the network - and you could build or coopt a more weather focused node once more comfortable.
Mostly I think Houston really could use someone hosting a weather bot on the mesh (git hub has a few) for emergency periods
