No power issues, a few ice concerns, but mostly it's just really cold in Houston

Most likely explanation for this was due to CAA (cold air advection) decreasing across much of the region from the arctic airmass concentrated to our north, along with this radiational cooling (the type we normally get on clear, dry nights) conditions were not ideal due to clouds effectively bouncing back heat to the ground. Tonight should be colder because we have that radiational cooling, with a little caveat as a trough moves in from the west (most models depict this after daybreak so it won’t affect our minimums, but it’s also why you might see something like what you saw yesterday to a lesser extent). Ofc if SCW posts on it their explanation will probably be plenty better than mine.
